Orientation Course in Tobacco Cessation (OCTC) is a unique course to understand and gain insights into the holistic patient treatment with the evidence-based journey with ICanCaRe scientific and data-driven protocol ensuring high success rate. Hands-on training on the standard protocol-based approach with ICanCaRe Cessation APP with an understanding of pharmacotherapy and behavior therapy for a successful tobacco cessation process.

    FAQs

  • Fill the online enrolment form and make the course fees payment. On successful payment, the course registration form link is sent on mail. Fill the course registration form for the course.
  • Yearly calendar is made available for the online course batches. A candidate can register for the online course and choose the batch.
  • Classroom based training classes is through our center of excellence and has to be through the institute. A minimum of 40 candidates are required for classroom based training.

    • The course certificates shall be issued to the candidate through ICanCaRe upon successfully completing the mentioned requirement including the sessions, assessment and tasks given during the course. It may take upto 3 months for the certificates to be issued post evaluation of the assessments and tasks.


    The Academy Director and faculty grade the candidates on a dynamic basis. The credits shall be awarded after completing all the course requirements. The assessment marks will be in percentage and grades will be awarded as:

  • A+ : 70% - 100%
  • A : 60% - 69%
  • B+ : 50% - 59%
  • B : 50% - 54%
  • C : Less than 50%

    • Registered candidates who wish to opt out of the course or change the batch for reasons whotsoever, can email to the course coordinator. The following charges shall apply

    1. Change in course batch - No charges
    2. Cancellation 7 days prior to commencement of the opted course batch - Full refund excluding GST
    3. Cancellation within 7 days of commencement of the opted course batch- 50% refund of the basic course fee excluding GST
    4. Cancellation after commencement of the opted course batch - No refund

    Candidates who could not appear for the assessment or wish to improve the grade can apply with reassessment fees of Rs. 2360/-. Request for reassessment to be mailed to the course coordinator.


    Only CTCS/OCTC are allowed for observership on request to the course coordinator.
    Observer fee for multiple classes (max of three) of Rs. 1180/- shall be applicable.


    ICanCaRe Tutorials are conducted on a monthly basis in online mode. OCTC candidates can join these classes on payment of Rs. 590/- per class.


    ICanCaRe E-Cessation App can be freely downloaded from Google Playstore.

    The advance features of the App is complimentary for a period of 1 months for OCTC candidates. Following that subscription charges shall be applicable as per the prevailing rates.


    The OCTC certified candidates get scholarship of 20% to enrol for CTCS course. For more details contact course coordinator


    The course material kit is sent to registered candidates who have paid the course fees in full on the provided communication address in the registration form.


    All certified CTCS / OCTC / Marshal candidates are by default part of the ICanCaRe network and get tobacco related pharmacy products and IEC materials at subsidised cost. Kindly contact ICanCaRe sales team for procurement.
